Fourth grade plans

I just compulsively ordered next year's science program from Galore Park at Book Depository.
I was set to use Apologia's Astronomy, but I just can't be comfortable with using a science program that has such a strong religious base.
I was looking at the Singapore program but it seems so sparse. Not to mention that their math, as highly acclaimed as it is, just didn't work for us. I don't expect the science program to be much different.
I think I have next year mapped out. I keep going back and forth, but I am going to place my final order soon so I'd better get my act together.

So, my plan (at the moment) is...
Story of the Thirteen Colonies and Story of the Great Republic
-I'll be using these as a spine , I own a ridiculous amount of American historical fiction and can get more from the library
Elson Readers: Book 4 with Teacher's Guide
-this is also pretty compulsive, sigh
Writing Tales 1
-it's about time I start an official writing program
First Language Lessons 4
-we are loving this series, I really hope SWB will be keeping ahead of us with these for a few more years=)
Italic C
-I've been experimenting with this style lately, it is much more attractive than cursive; now that James can read cursive, I don't see why he has to continue practicing it.
Horizons Math 4
-I love this math program. I still feel occasional guilt about abandoning Singapore(which I feel is the best program available) but it really works for James.
Calculadders
-why I didn't get this earlier I will never know...quick painless math drills that are making a huge difference in James' retention of math facts
So You Really Want to Learn Science 1
-this was a real spur of the moment purchase, but hey, it can't be worse than the science we are using now...
Latin for Children
-as much as I wanted to like the Memoria Press latin program, it was a complete flop here. I really hope this is better for us.
Great American Artists for Kids: Hands-On Art Experiences in the Styles of Great American Masters (Bright Ideas for Learning)
-I just stumbled on this little gem on the WTM forums, looks perfect to tie in with our history.
