It is day 6 and I cannot believe how much better he looks already. The swelling was so bad. It is an awful thing to look at your child and not recognize him.
Sean is back to his usual self, getting into trouble, climbing the furniture, demanding his way...typical toddler stuff. He has been so good about this. I know it hurts so bad when I wash his face, but he will now sit and let me do it. He cries, but he will stay still for me. I think he understands that it has to be done, and he hates to be restrained.
What really breaks my heart is the fear. He will occasionally wake up from his nap in a panic, or he'll talk and whimper in his sleep. I hope that he can leave this all behind as he gets better.
James has been great. I thought he was going to be upset when he saw his brother, but he has taken it well. They are as close as ever. He has been, as always, very helpful. I've even managed a shower every day, while the boys play.
