Advent Calendar

In my effort to pull away, little by little, from the materialistic side of Christmas, I am approaching the advent calendar differently this year. Instead of placing candy or gifts in the pockets, I have made small red and white cards with an activity for each day.









Some of them are really simple. Today we piled together on the couch and read Winter is the Warmest Season.













I have a lot of the things that we would do normally, like watching Christmas movies and baking, but I think this will help make Christmas feel like a season instead of a single day revolving around gifts.
