First full week

Okay, we can do this. After a brief week off, we are on full school schedule. So far, so good. Of course, Michael is a sleepy newborn so we will see what happens when he starts to spend more of his day awake. Though he does have plenty of brothers doting on him and he seems to have a pretty laid back disposition.

A short break seems to be exactly what Sean needed. He is attacking his school work each morning and tearing right through it. What I felt was a lot of writing just a few short weeks ago, seems to be perfect now.

James started the week off with a slow start. He has long days followed by long nights at karate. As the week has gone on though, he seems to be hitting his stride. Only time will tell. He is taking three outsourced classes, two of which are high school level. Our arch-nemesis, math, has once again reared its ugly head, but we will keep plodding along.

I am pleased with the work he is producing for his online classes. One of his teachers is an especially tough grader, but he is stepping up to the challenge.

We are starting our mornings off with some prayer, a read aloud, and we have brought back circle time and the calendar I made last year. The week has been full of celebrating some of our favorite saints' feast days: St.Michael, St. Therese, The Guardian Angels, and St. Francis.

Fall is in the air, the harvest moon has come and gone, and I am welcoming the shorter days and the cooler weather. Some of our favorite reads this week have been:

Christopher has been quite inventive in keeping himself busy. There is a Halloween display to ransack,

a pirate to dress as,

and a cat to decorate.

Michael just looks cute

and sleeps all day. No complaints here!
