Cloth diapering

Sean was in cloth for the first 6 months or so. At the time, we used coin op wash and once he started solids I started to have bacteria and build up issues. I realized it would be less expensive to switch to disposables than it would be to run the extra washes I needed.

I set aside the diapers and was planning on using them on Chris from the day he came home from the hospital. Well, Christopher threw a wrench in all my best laid plans. When he finally did come home from the hospital, I was so overwhelmed with trying to get him to nurse and pumping 8 times a day that I could barely keep up with the laundry, let alone add more.

By the time he hit 7 months I was down to 4 pumps a day, and had made a semi truce with the fact that he is not willing to nurse(I haven't given up completely, but I have stopped freaking out about it-most days).

At about that time he started leaking through his night time diaper. every. single. night. We were both waking up in a puddle and I had resorted to sleeping on a towel with him. By now the thought of laundry doesn't make me want to cry, so I pulled out the diapers, ordered a few larger covers and we're back in business.

Now I wonder why I waited so long. No leaks, no blow outs. And just look at that cute bum!

I love the picture of the stacks of colorful covers! This almost makes me miss diaper days. Cloth is SO nice.
