Thanksgiving and the beginning of winter

Last year we vowed to never travel through Boston on Thanksgiving Day again. Luckily we had made hotel reservations because there was a major snowstorm on Wednesday. We left just as ii began. It was only rain south of us, a little chilly, and very windy. We spent Thanksgiving morning doing the tourist thing in Plymouth. My boys were not overly impressed, we will have to make another trip in the nicer weather.

We spent Thanksgiving with family. The kids love to see their cousins. We brought the pup, he made a friend, and the whole thing went far better than I had dared to hope. (4 boys and a dog on a road trip and in a hotel? Imagine how that could have gone)

We spent Thursday checking the power reports. Our entire town was without power for most of the storm and we were worried what we were coming home to. I don't think we could have timed it better, however. The power was back on, the heat was going, and a neighbor had cleared the end of our driveway so we could pull off the road.

Today the sun is out and the snow is glittering. It is stunning out there. We are blessed.
