What an inconsistent blogger I am! I haven't been very inspired to write much. I have been very focused on James's school lately. The thought of middle school fast approaching makes me feel a little panicky. We've undergone some schedule changes and it looks like some subjects that I thought would stretch the full year are going to be wrapping up sooner than I thought.
We were having James do his independent work first thing in the morning and then I would work with him the afternoon, but things get pushed back that way, since I find myself wrapped up in Sean and housework. So, we started doing the subjects he needs help with first, and then moving to independent work in the afternoon. I am finding that school stretches much longer in the day than it used to. Some evenings we find ourselves finishing things up after dinner and TKD, sort of a homeschooler's homework.;-). When that happens, I make sure he gets a good break in the afternoon. I still want him to enjoy being a kid.
He will be testing for his black belt in a few months and with that comes a slew of extra work outside of class, from writing and reading, to projects and exercise. It is going to be a very busy rest of the winter.
Sean has been doing many of the same activities I put in my last post, along with some oral phonic awareness games we have been working on. He's been watching a little too much tv, but that is going to change soon. We made the decision to pull the plug on cable after the Super Bowl. No one really watches it except Sean lately. I don't need an electronic babysitter and we can always pick up a few videos from the library.
I hope a picture-less post was at least better than no post. I'll try to get back on this week and put up some photos.
