Ash Wednesday

We started off the day with Mass and ashes (and more snow). With Jim working at home he is now able to come with us instead of having to go to the evening Mass alone.

James was with us, but he is increasingly camera shy.

Back home we set up our Lenten calendars and a sign that I shamelessly copied from the fabulous Kendra at Catholic All Year

Chrissy was happy to start filling the rice bowl with any spare change he could find and we have our sacrifice jar out. A certain little boy keeps asking me to cook the lima beans so he can eat them.

Chris won't take this sweater off. He also has a giant bruise under his ashes.

Unrelated shot of Michael doing what Michael does best. I believe James stayed up until midnight so he could eat some bacon. I think we need a bit of work on the meaning of "the spirit of the fast" ahem
