The Boy Who Cried "Wolf"

version by James

There was once a young shepherd who wanted to play a sneaky trick on the kind villagers. He cried out, "There's a hungry wolf!" They all dropped their tools and ran. The tricky boy laughed at them cruelly. When the villagers went back to work; the baker's cake was burnt, the builder's hammer had broken when he dropped it, and everyone was sore from running to the save the sheep.
The next day the boy played the same trick again. One of the women were having a party and someone dropped their drinks and made a huge mes. Again, they were all sore form their running.
One day a gray, hungry wolf did come. The young shepherd ran to the village and screamed. "Help! Help! There is a wolf!" No one came to help, for they thought he was playing a trick. The boy lost all his sheep.
